The Caves

The Bay of Fundy is home to some of the highest tides in the world! At times the tide is as high as a 4 storey building! The amount of water in movement is more than all of the fresh water lakes in the world put together! This makes for some interesting coast lines and beaches. It also makes for a great walk when the tide goes out, leaving behind red cliffs, massive caves and various forms of sea life to investigate!
One of the best places to experience this is sitting on the deck of The Caves Restaurant. Go for a hike along the caves as the tide is out. Have some of the amazing world famous seafood chowder as the water moves in, take a drive, bike ride or hike along the neighbouring Fundy trail. Then return for some fish and chips when the tide is at its highest. This restaurant more than deserves the title for its chowder. The creamy hearty chowder is full of large chunks of lobstar, scallops, and fish. It also comes with a fresh out of the oven, home-made scone for dipping! We were also treated to a seafood casserole and a huge plate of fish and chips. We left with extremely stuffed bellies, take-out containers and huge smiles! Check out The Caves Restaurant and the Fundy Trail if you are anywhere near - you won't regret it!
